Which is better, a vacuum space-bag or a compression hand-roll one?

I need to save space and can't decide whether to buy the space-saver bag which you use with a vacuum cleaner (to suck out the air) or one of the hand-rolled compression bags. What's your experience of them? I was going to buy it from Argos.
