Finding the right tattoo artist?

well, it was fairly simple for me. I have many friends with tattoos and most used different artists. Between seeing their actual work on actual skin and looking through their portfolios online. I chose the guy who did the most amazing animal and people portraits because my tattoo is of a erfly. Also, the guy is close friends with one of my close friends fathers so i felt better knowing that he was a nice guy and not some weirdo. All tattoo artists have to be able to tattoo whatever though otherwise they wont get much business. If you want something realistic, go for the guy who does amazing real life tattoos, if youre going for something more fantasy, find the guy who does "mystical" work
