Laptop Acer Aspire 5315 Lost all icons on desktop HELP?

Have only a side bar on RH side - Have tried right click anywhere ~ Right click top RH corner - Nothing. I posted this Q few days ago but the 3 answers did not help. All said to Right click anywhere. I do not have an oversized desktop because sometimes it appears and when I go from start to Doents the whole lot disappears. Thx & HNY to all
